Hangauer named Inventor of the Year
On May 8, 2008, Dr. David Hangauer, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Kinex Pharmaceuticals was presented with the “Inventor of the Year Award” by the Niagara Frontier Intellectual Property Law Association and the Technical Societies Council of the Niagara Frontier. In addition, he received first place in the Life Sciences category for the Kinex Pharmaceuticals assigned patent entitled “Compositions for Treating Cell Proliferation Disorders”.
Dr. Hangauer was recognized for the large body of Intellectual Property he has generated in his academic position at the University at Buffalo as well as the inventions that have been patented at Kinex Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Hangauer joins an illustrious group of former Inventors of the Year that include Wilson Greatbatch (discovery of the pace maker) and Thomas Dougherty (discovery of photodynamic therapy).
