Kinex Presents at 2008 AACR Meeting

Dr. Yahao Bu, a post-doctoral scientist at Kinex Pharmaceuticals, delivered a talk at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Caner Research. The Meeting was held in San Diego, CA on April 12, 2008. Initially accepted as a poster presentation, the abstract was escalated to an oral presentation and was delivered before an audience of international attendees from the cancer research community. The talk entitled “KXO1, a Src kinase inhibitor targeting the peptide-binding domain, suppresses oncogenic proliferation in vitro and in vivo”, was authored by Dr. Bu as well as Kinex Pharmaceutical scientists Drs. David Hangauer, Lyn Dyster and Michael Smolinski. Collaborators from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Dr. Irwin Gelman, and from the University of Buffalo, Dr. Taher Hageb, were also cited. The presentation described preclinical data for KXO1, a compound that is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for oncology.
