Kinex Honored by the University at Buffalo

Kinex Pharmaceuticals was honored at a Scholars, Inventors and Entrepreneurs Reception held on May 26, 2004 by the University and Buffalo and the Office of Science Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach.

Dr. Allen Barnett, Chief Executive Officer of Kinex, accepted the award on behalf of himself and co-founders Drs. David Hangauer and Lyn Dyster.

Kinex has an exclusive license from the University at Buffalo to several patents that involve novel drug-like molecules and methods of designing protein kinase inhibitors. The subject matter of the patents was developed in the laboratory of Dr. David Hangauer, Senior Vice President of R&D at Kinex.

Kinex Pharmaceuticals is developing Next Generation Anti-Cancer Drugs that will be first in class and first to market. The Company’s platform technology has enabled the genesis of a novel class of kinase inhibitors that bind in the substrate pocket and offer many benefits over existing drugs including improved specificity, low toxicity and the reduced likelihood of inducing resistance.
